These are the platforms' own words about scams and impersonation, with a link to where each says it.
- Appen / CrowdGen: Appen says it will never ask you to send money to apply or start a job, all official emails come from @appen.com addresses, and it never asks for personal information outside its official channels.
- DataAnnotation: DataAnnotation says it never asks applicants or workers for money, only requests financial details inside the logged-in platform, and that you should apply only through its official sign-up flow.
- Handshake AI: Handshake says official emails end in joinhandshake.com, it does not send official messages through WhatsApp or SMS from "Handshake AI", and it never asks for sensitive information by text.
- Mercor: Mercor's support assistant does not start cold outreach, ask for personal credentials or request payment information unsolicited. Mercor says to treat any such message as suspicious and report it to [email protected]. Source
- Mindrift: Mindrift says any request for payment, deposit or purchase is not from Mindrift, and that legitimate communication comes only from official Mindrift channels and the mindrift.ai domain.
- Prolific: Prolific says to be cautious if someone claiming to be a Prolific employee asks for sensitive details such as bank details or passwords, and never to pay researchers off-platform.
- SuperAnnotate: SME Careers says that if you're unsure whether a message is genuinely from SME Careers, contact support before acting on it.
- Terac: Terac says genuine study links always point to terac.com, and it never asks for a password, verification code, bank or card login, or a fee or deposit to take part.
- Welo Data: Welo Data says it will never ask you to pay fees, buy equipment or share sensitive personal information outside its platforms; genuine emails come only from @welocalize.com, @weloglobal.com, @hire.lever.co or @welodata.ai.
