भर्ती कैसे होती है

Ethos is an expert network run by Ethos Artificial Intelligence Limited in London. You build an expert profile, and Ethos’s AI tools match it to client projects: consultations, surveys, written reports, short tasks, and review or annotation of data, including training work for AI labs. You can accept or decline each project.

Ethos has no public help centre for experts, so some steps after sign-up are described only in its terms.

  1. Apply to an opportunity on agent.askethos.com, or sign up to be matched to opportunities.
  2. Take the AI voice screen if Ethos invites you to it.
  3. Answer Project Screening questions for each project you’re matched to.
  4. Be selected by Ethos’s AI tools together with Ethos staff or the client.
  5. Complete the Tutorial and, when asked, verify your identity.
  6. Work and send your invoices on the project’s terms, paid through Revolut or Wise.

Ethos doesn’t promise any work. Being told about a project doesn’t mean you’ll be chosen for it.

Before you start

  • Your age and status. You must be 18 or over and legally allowed to work as an independent contractor where you live. Checking that is your responsibility.
  • Where you live. Ethos must be able to pay people in your country. You enter your country on its payments page, which checks it against the places its payment processors support. Ethos publishes no list and can change it. If your country isn’t supported, you may not be able to join or stay on a project.
  • Sanctions. You must not be under UK, US, EU or other sanctions, or live in a territory under full sanctions.
  • A bank account in your own name. Ethos may refuse to pay an account in someone else’s name, and may hold pay if the name doesn’t match your verified identity.
  • Your LinkedIn profile and a CV as a PDF. The application form on opportunity pages asks for both.
  • A government photo ID and a device with a camera, for a live selfie and a short video.

Some opportunities are for people with a specific background, for example M&A analysts with two or more years at named top banks. Read who the listing is for before you apply.

Creating your account

The usual way in is through an opportunity:

  1. Open an opportunity on agent.askethos.com and read who it is for.
  2. Choose Apply.
  3. Give your first name, last name and email, and your LinkedIn profile, which the Check button looks up. LinkedIn is required.
  4. Upload your CV as a PDF, also required, and choose Submit Application.
  5. Ethos’s team reviews the application and may invite you to the AI voice screen.

The other way in is Get matched to opportunities or Try Ethos on the home page, which leads to a Log in / Sign up screen. Ethos doesn’t publish what that route asks for.

By creating an account you accept the Expert Terms, which are your agreement with Ethos. Keep to one account and don’t share it. You can’t join if Ethos has removed you before. You may be asked to verify your identity when you create the account.

Your profile

Ethos matches you to projects from your profile. It holds your work and education history, skills, areas of expertise, availability and billing rate, and over time your responsiveness and feedback from past projects. The site says your profile shows your expertise based on your career history, and that more engagement leads to higher-value opportunities.

What Ethos uses to match you

  • your profile, history and expertise;
  • how you did on past projects, and what clients said;
  • your Project Screening answers;
  • your billing rate, availability and how quickly you respond.

Declining a project doesn’t count against you by itself, but Ethos looks at patterns in your availability and responsiveness.

Keeping it accurate

  • Your experience, education and employment history must be true and kept up to date. Misrepresenting your qualifications is not allowed.
  • Ethos may add public information about you from other data sources. Its privacy policy names Proxycurl, Apollo and Bright Data, including LinkedIn identifiers.
  • Ethos’s AI Platform Agents help with screening and with filling in your profile. Using them is optional, but Ethos says not using them may affect your visibility.

The AI voice screen

Opportunity pages say an AI voice screen is included, and that applicants may be invited to a short one. It is a recorded voice interview in which an AI asks follow-up questions. The recording is transcribed, and AI writes summaries and evaluations of it.

Ethos doesn’t publish how long the screen lasts, how many questions it asks, whether your camera is used, or whether you can take it again.

If a decision made by AI affects you in a significant way, you can ask for a person to review it.

Project Screening and selection

For each project, Ethos may ask Project Screening questions about your background and experience, and for assurances about your professional history. An AI Platform Agent may ask them; Ethos tells you when it does.

  • Answer fully and accurately. Incomplete or inaccurate answers can mean you aren’t selected, are removed from the platform, or have your agreement ended.
  • Check for conflicts with your current or recent employers before you accept (see AI tools and conduct).

Selection usually combines AI tools with review by Ethos staff, the client, or both. Ethos or the client can decide not to select you without giving a reason. Clients may also contact you through the platform when they think you match, and you accept or decline.

Ethos asks for work that is accurate, honest, professional and of high quality, and expects you to follow the client’s instructions. It can remove you for falling short.

What applicants report

Ethos publishes nothing on the steps between selection and work. A few reviewers on Trustpilot (June to October 2026, two or three for each point) describe an assessment or “Prove” module, an onboarding webinar, a screener with an 80% pass mark to be taken within 24 hours of being matched, and work in a client tool called Feather with a Microsoft sign-in. Ethos hasn’t confirmed any of these.

AI tools and conduct

Ethos publishes no rule on whether you may use ChatGPT, Grammarly or other AI tools in screening or in project work. Its terms count “AI-generated content or output” as part of what you deliver, but don’t say it is allowed.

Two applicants on Trustpilot (October 2026) report their accounts were paused or ended for suspected AI use: one had used Grammarly only for spelling, and the other says handwritten feedback was flagged as AI. Until Ethos publishes a rule, write in your own words and don’t use AI rewriting tools.

What can end your account

  • false or misleading qualifications, or inaccurate Project Screening answers;
  • failing, not finishing or not keeping your identity verification;
  • a sanctions or identity-check (KYC) match;
  • a second account, a shared account, or bots and scrapers;
  • low-quality work, breaking the terms, or conduct that puts Ethos, its clients or the platform at risk.

Ethos uses identity checks and device, IP and network signals to find impersonation, duplicate accounts and payment fraud. Its compliance staff or systems may monitor calls and messages without notice.

Conflicts and outside work

  • No projects about an employer you worked for in the last six months, and none for a client that competes with your current employer.
  • Auditors, lawyers, and financial and health professionals have extra limits. You may not give legal, investment, tax or medical advice.
  • All work must be arranged and paid through Ethos. Work you do for a client outside the platform isn’t paid by Ethos.
  • Nobody else may help you with the work without Ethos’s written consent.

Tutorial, ID check and contract

The Tutorial

Before any project you must complete the Ethos expert Tutorial. You may have to do it again each year, or whenever Ethos asks. Ethos doesn’t publish what it covers or how long it takes.

Identity check

Ethos uses Persona. You give a government photo ID, a live selfie and a short video for a face match, with your name, date of birth and address. Persona also records device, IP and network signals, and checks sanctions lists, watchlists and adverse media. Ethos receives only the result (verified, needs review or declined) and limited details, not your ID images.

The check may come when you create your account, before you start a project or before you’re paid, and Ethos can ask you to repeat it at any time.

Background checks

Ethos or its clients may check your biographical, professional and educational history, themselves or through another company. You agree to this when you accept the Expert Terms. No provider is named.

Contracts

The Expert Terms are your agreement with Ethos. They are under English law, with disputes settled by LCIA arbitration in London. Each project can add its own terms, and you may have to accept the terms again each year. A client may ask you to sign its own project agreement; you need Ethos’s written permission first.

Some projects run on software the client provides. Ethos tells you when.

Pay, tax and hours

  • Rate: agreed for each project and confirmed in writing before it starts. Pay is usually worked out from the time you spend, as Ethos reasonably decides from the data it has. Ethos names no time-tracking app. Each opportunity page gives its rate and hours.
  • When: set for each project, for example weekly, monthly or when it ends, once any invoices or reports it needs are in. Send them before each pay period ends and within three days of the project ending, or your pay may be late or lost. Ethos may hold pay while a dispute is open.
  • How: through Revolut or Wise, to a bank account in your own name. On the payments page you enter your country, then the bank details it needs, such as an IBAN, sort code, SWIFT code or routing number.
  • What isn’t paid: preparation, research and anything before a project, unless agreed in writing; a project that is cancelled or ended early, unless Ethos says otherwise. Expenses are yours unless agreed. Ethos doesn’t say whether the voice screen or the Tutorial is paid; two applicants on Trustpilot say training on AI projects was paid.
  • Tax: you’re an independent contractor and handle your own tax. Ethos may ask for tax documents and may withhold tax where the law requires it.
  • Hours: no platform minimum. Each listing sets its own, for example 5 to 20 hours a week.

What applicants report

On Trustpilot, about nine of the newest reviews (September to November 2026) say pay arrived on time; most of those reviews give five stars. Single reviews say pay came about every two weeks, that pay was held until a person approved the work, and that the page for bank details failed while Ethos changed payment provider.

Why applications stall

Ethos publishes no typical waiting time and no time to first work. The reasons its terms give for not getting work:

  • not being selected after screening, which needs no reason;
  • inaccurate screening answers;
  • no projects that match your profile;
  • a country Ethos can’t pay;
  • an identity check failed or not finished;
  • the Tutorial not completed.

What applicants report

These come from Trustpilot reviews from June to November 2026. They are a handful of reports, not a measure of how often things happen.

  • Waiting: about ten of twenty three-star reviews mention a full queue, 200 or more people waiting, waits of more than ten days, or more experts than work. Several say applications to other projects went unanswered. One says access to Slack came about ten days after being admitted.
  • Access: about six of twenty one-star reviews describe being blocked after passing, such as an account shown as “deactivated” or “inactive” on the screener, or being unable to sign in to the client tool or task queue.
  • Support: nine of twenty one-star reviews say support didn’t reply.
  • Single reports: an ID check that failed with no reason and no way to retry; an AI interview that ran well past 15 minutes and ignored requests to explain; a campaign that ended without warning after two months; training for one project followed by tasks from another.
  • Data: about five one-star reviewers suspect the platform exists to collect data, and one found no way to delete a profile.

What reviewers say helped, one or two reports each: careful submissions leading to steady work, the training and “playbook”, checking the queue often, and changing device when an assessment kept failing.

Official addresses and scams

  • Ethos uses askethos.com and its subdomains: agent.askethos.com (sign-up, opportunities and terms), app.askethos.com and recruiting.askethos.com. Support is [email protected].
  • Other businesses use the name “Ethos”. The company you contract with is Ethos Artificial Intelligence Limited, Office 3.01, MYO, 42-50 York Way, London N1 9AB.
  • Ethos says it is always free to use. A request for a fee is not part of its process.
  • Your ID images go to Persona’s own screens, not to Ethos. A request for your ID by email or a chat app is not part of the process.
  • Ethos does contact people first, using data from other sources, so an email you didn’t expect can be real. It must tell you within a month where it got your details. Check that the sender’s address ends in askethos.com.
  • Pay figures and company names in the examples on Ethos’s home page, such as “$500/hr”, are illustrations, not live offers.
