भर्ती कैसे होती है

Claru is the training-data business of Reka AI, Inc. Most of its open work is first-person video: you record real household or workplace tasks with a phone worn on your head, in the Claru app or a separate recording app called Minute, and you’re paid for each approved hour of footage. Claru also lists annotation roles for people with a particular background, such as rating AI answers, reviewing code, testing AI for weaknesses and labelling images.

  1. Create an account at app.claru.ai/signup and verify your email.
  2. Complete your profile, starting with your country.
  3. Work through the Getting Started checklist: a short tour, your first project and your payout details.
  4. Pass a qualification if the project type needs one.
  5. Record or complete tasks to the project’s rules.
  6. Get paid for approved work only, to a bank account in your own name.

A profile doesn’t guarantee a project, a start date, an amount of work or pay.

Before you start

  • Your age. 18 or over, or the age of majority where you live, and not removed by Claru before.
  • Where you live. Anyone can create a profile, but each project limits who can join, by location among other things. The countries in Claru’s job filter are the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, India, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. Since 9 September 2026, Venezuela is closed to the Minute app and the Residential Egocentric project.
  • An approved phone. Each recording project lists the exact phone models it accepts, and a newer model isn’t accepted unless it is listed. Lists vary; examples include iPhone 11 or 12 and newer (but not the 16e or 17e), Pixel 6 onwards and Galaxy S21 onwards.
  • A head mount that holds the phone at forehead or eye level, angled down. You buy it yourself. The Latin America household project doesn’t allow GoPros or other action cameras.
  • A bank account in your own name that accepts international payments. PayPal and Payoneer aren’t supported, and digital wallets such as Mercado Pago or Wise may reject payments. If Claru can’t pay your country, a US bank account in your name can be used.
  • Consent from every person who can be identified in your footage, and from a parent or guardian for children.
  • No VPN. A VPN, a false country on your profile, or recording while travelling outside your approved country leads to rejected recordings and can mean your account is permanently suspended.

Creating your account

  1. Go to app.claru.ai/signup. Sign up with Google, Apple, or an email address and password. Business and affiliate sign-ups are separate.
  2. The form has an optional referral code, which can’t be added after the account exists.
  3. Tick the box to accept the Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Annotator Master Services Agreement (MSA).
  4. If you signed up by email, open the verification link within 24 hours. Nothing works until you do. Google and Apple accounts are verified automatically.
  5. Add your country, and your state if you live in the US. Claru asks for this before it shows you any projects.
  6. Work through the Getting Started checklist on your dashboard: the five-slide “Welcome to Claru” tour, joining your first project (some need an assessment first), and adding your payout details.

Check your email address as you type it. The account email can never be changed, and only support can correct a typing mistake. Keep to one account.

Claru’s site is in English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Pay is always in US dollars.

Your profile

Claru uses your profile to match you to projects, and may invite you to some automatically from your country, device and other details. Keep these up to date:

  • your full name, gender and education;
  • your LinkedIn and Upwork links and your Discord username;
  • your country of residence, which must be your real one;
  • up to 10 skills and 10 interests;
  • your native language, used for projects that depend on language.

Claru’s public page also mentions your phone or other equipment, and your experience.

Annotation roles

Expert listings name the background they want, for example an undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject for maths rating, skill in legal reasoning (bar admission not needed) for legal evaluation, or a Master’s with research or a PhD for physics.

Finding a project

Each project sets its own rules on location, device, equipment such as a head mount, and recording. Projects you aren’t eligible for don’t appear. If you can’t see a project, Claru gives these reasons:

  • your country isn’t eligible;
  • your profile is incomplete;
  • your phone isn’t supported;
  • you haven’t done its assessment;
  • the project is full.

If no project is open for your country, you may be put on a waitlist.

Each project has a Getting Started Guide, which Claru calls the source of truth for its requirements. Read it before you record.

The qualification assessment

Some project types, such as Activities Video and External Video Recording, need a qualification first. Open it from the project card on My Work with Start qualification.

  • What it is: usually about five multiple-choice questions, taking about ten minutes. Some types also ask for a short sample video from the Claru phone app.
  • Marking: automatic. For Activities Video the sample video decides the result, and the quiz is optional.
  • Failing: a failed video comes with written feedback and an Upload again button. Retakes are free and unlimited, with no waiting time.
  • Passing: the project type stays open to you, though Claru can take it away.

Claru documents no AI interview, writing test or coding test.

Annotation roles

The listings describe their own checks: a paid qualification task during onboarding (legal evaluation); an assessment during onboarding that decides your level (physics); and, for the subject tracks of the rater role, a calibration test after 30 days with agreement (Cohen’s kappa) above 0.80. Raters must then keep agreement at or above 0.75 on a random 15% of items that others also rate, with calibration sessions every two weeks.

Recording and review

What reviewers look for

  • real, unstaged activity, filmed first-person from a phone on your head;
  • your hands in view nearly all the time;
  • video filmed horizontally, at least two minutes long, in good light.

The Latin America listing asks for hands in view 90% of the time, the help centre 95% for the same kind of project: aim for 95%.

Common reasons for rejection:

  • shaking, a blocked camera, long idle periods or too much repetition;
  • sitting down when the task needs movement;
  • talking over the video;
  • missing consent from someone in the footage;
  • the phone on your chest or body, held in your hand, or below eye level;
  • upside-down or vertical video;
  • a phone that isn’t approved for the project.

The Minute app

For Minute app projects, since 12 October 2026:

  1. Open your project page on the Claru website. It shows a personal email and password for Minute.
  2. In Minute, choose Sign In, not Sign Up. Don’t create your own Minute account.
  3. Select the Claru organisation.

Recordings made under another email or organisation aren’t credited, and if they add up to less than five approved hours they can’t be recovered. Keep to one Minute account, and don’t delete it and make a new one: pending videos are lost.

Review

Minute’s guideline is three to five business days, but on 21 October 2026 Claru said reviews were slower and not in date order. Contact support only after a video has been Pending for ten days. Minute shows the hours you uploaded; Claru shows approved hours, which can take three to five business days or more to appear.

Rejected work shows its reason under My Work → Rejected. Where the project allows, fix it and send it again. Recordings from the Claru app or a partner app, and work for the Latin America Residential project, can’t be sent again.

Some common tasks (cleaning a kitchen, cooking, washing dishes by hand, tidying rooms, folding clothes) have a hidden limit for each person, and disappear from your task library once you reach it.

Reviewers of other contributors’ work are chosen by Claru for each project, and paid for each review; you can’t apply for this.

Rules and conduct

Claru publishes no rule on AI tools for text or rating tasks. Its terms and agreement don’t allow:

  • more than one Claru account or Minute account, sharing an account, passing work to someone else, or sending in another person’s work;
  • automated tools or scripts, changing quality scores, and fake or placeholder work;
  • a VPN, a false country, or recording outside your approved country.

Claru may monitor keystroke patterns, timing, screen recordings, your IP address and location, and can end your access over suspicious patterns. Repeated quality problems can mean permanent removal, and Claru’s quality measures are final. Ninety days without activity can also end your access.

Minute app deactivations

Minute, not Claru, decides these, and Claru can’t reverse them or see the reason. Causes include footage that isn’t first-person, the wrong mount (a second time can mean removal), three strikes, a VPN or an ineligible country, repeated violations, fraud, upside-down or vertical video, and a blocked camera. Pending videos are then never reviewed, but Claru still pays the balance you’ve already earned.

Classification tasks

Skip is unpaid and gives up the pay for that item. Reject, for a faulty item, is paid. A task you open is taken back after about an hour.

Contract and identity

The Annotator Master Services Agreement (MSA), which you accept when you sign up, is your contract. You’re an independent contractor. Each project you accept becomes a Statement of Work with its own pay and acceptance criteria.

  • Claru has 30 days to review work you deliver. If it asks for changes, you have five days to make them.
  • Payment follows the platform’s schedule and comes no later than 60 days after your work is accepted.
  • For 12 months you may not approach Claru’s clients for work directly. Working for other companies is allowed.
  • The MSA is under California law, with arbitration by the AAA.

Likeness Release

The MSA includes a Likeness Release. You confirm that you have consent from every identifiable person in your footage (from a parent or guardian for children), keep records of it for seven years, and cover Claru’s costs if anyone makes a claim. Photo projects ask for each person’s full name, date of birth and a consent tick.

Identity

Claru’s privacy policy lists identity verification information, and the MSA mentions a government ID given during onboarding or verification. Claru doesn’t say who runs the check or when it is asked for. No background check is documented.

Pay, tax and hours

Claru’s job listings and its newer help centre disagree on how and when it pays, and sometimes on the rate. Follow the help centre, set out below, and the rate shown on your project before you start.

  • What is paid: approved recordings or tasks only, not time spent or hours uploaded. To be paid you must keep a high Quality Score, use an approved device in your approved country, and meet the minimum length.
  • When: weekly. Payouts are processed every Tuesday for work approved before the cut-off, and arrive in one to five business days. The US video listing says the first payment usually comes 7 to 10 days after your first approved recording.
  • Minimum: $50. A smaller balance carries over.
  • How: through the payment company Trolley, to a bank account in your own name that accepts international payments. A payment your bank sends back can cost a $10 fee to send again.
  • Setting up: Wallet icon → Payments → Add Payout Method, then your home address (not a business one) and the bank details for your country. Members of a team or agency are paid through their team lead.
  • Tax: you report and pay your own tax. A tax ID, such as Brazil’s CPF, must match your bank details. Claru names no tax forms.
  • Hours: no fixed hours and no minimum. Recording work has no time tracker, since it is paid per approved hour of footage. Rater roles have weekly targets.

Why applications stall

Claru publishes no typical waiting time. The reasons its own pages give for accounts and work going nowhere:

  • an email address never verified, which keeps the account locked;
  • “Unsupported Device”, which blocks you completely;
  • “No tasks” or a 403 error in Minute, meaning a disabled account, an unsupported phone or a location that doesn’t match;
  • recording under the wrong Minute email or organisation, so the videos never reach Claru;
  • footage rejected for the reasons above;
  • no payout because the balance is under $50, there is no payout method, hours are still pending, the bank refuses international payments, or the name or tax ID doesn’t match.

What contributors told Claru helped with payouts: in Brazil, traditional banks (Bradesco, Santander, Inter, Itaú, Caixa, Banco do Brasil) worked when digital wallets failed; in Bolivia, Banco Ganadero and Banco BNB. Claru presents this as contributor feedback, not an official list.

What applicants report

Claru has no Trustpilot page. On the App Store, the Claru AI app has 4.4 out of 5 from 29 ratings, and the four written reviews shown (October and November 2026) are short and positive about tracking earnings and pay. That is too few reports to draw conclusions from.

Official addresses and scams

  • Claru’s sites are claru.ai, app.claru.ai (sign-up and sign-in) and help.claru.ai (help centre). Its email addresses are [email protected] and [email protected].
  • The phone app is “Claru AI” on the App Store, sold by Reka AI, Inc.
  • Minute is another company’s recording app. Claru gives you its sign-in on your project page; never sign up on Minute yourself.
  • Addresses ending in @supply.claru.ai were sign-ins Claru made for Minute, not mailboxes. They haven’t been used to sign in since 12 October 2026, so a message asking you to sign in with one is out of date.
  • Signing up is free, and Claru pays only to a bank account in your own name. It doesn’t use PayPal, Payoneer or Airtm. An offer to pay you through those, or a request for a fee, is outside Claru’s process.

claru.org is not a Claru site. It copies Claru’s name and design, has its own sign-up pages, calls its link the “official sign-up link”, and sends you to Claru’s sign-up page with someone’s referral code attached. It names no owner and doesn’t say it is unofficial. Start only from claru.ai or app.claru.ai.

Getting hired at Claru: common questions

Is claru.org Claru’s official site?

No. Claru’s own sites are claru.ai, app.claru.ai and help.claru.ai. claru.org copies Claru’s name and design and sends visitors to Claru’s sign-up page with a referral code attached. Start only from claru.ai or app.claru.ai.

How and when does Claru pay?

Claru’s help centre says weekly: payouts are processed every Tuesday for approved work, through Trolley, to a bank account in your own name, with a $50 minimum. Older job listings say every two weeks; follow the help centre.

Which phones does Claru accept?

Each recording project lists the exact phone models it accepts, and a newer model isn’t accepted unless it is on the list. You also need a head mount that holds the phone at forehead or eye level, which you buy yourself.

Can I retake the Claru qualification?

Yes. Retakes are free and unlimited, with no waiting time. A failed sample video comes with written feedback and an Upload again button.

Can I use a VPN with Claru?

No. A VPN, a false country on your profile, or recording outside your approved country leads to rejected recordings and can mean permanent suspension.

Do I need my own Minute account?

No. Claru shows a personal email and password for Minute on your project page. In Minute, choose Sign In, not Sign Up, and select the Claru organisation. Recordings under another account aren’t credited.

How long do Claru video reviews take?

Minute’s guideline is three to five business days, but Claru said in October 2026 that reviews were slower and not in date order. Contact support only after a video has been Pending for ten days.
