भर्ती कैसे होती है
Alignerr is Labelbox’s contributor network. You sign up, upload a CV and set your preferences, then apply to individual job listings. Some listings add a Zara AI video interview or a skills assessment. If you pass, you join a pool, and Alignerr assigns projects when a client’s needs fit your profile.
- Sign in with a Google account at app.alignerr.com/signup.
- Upload your CV, check the profile it fills in, and choose the type of work you want.
- Apply to jobs, and take any Zara interview, assessment or human interview a job asks for.
- Wait to be matched to a project, which depends on client demand.
- Verify your ID with Persona, sign the Alignerr Consulting Agreement and set up payment.
- Join Discord and Hubstaff, pass the project’s calibration and work in the Labelbox platform.
Work is project by project. AI training runs in cycles, so time without work between projects is normal.

Before you start
- Where you live. Alignerr accepts applicants worldwide who meet its skill and communication requirements, but access is blocked in some countries with a “Location Denied” message. It publishes no list of those countries. Each listing shows a location, and some say “United States preferred”.
- Clear written English. Alignerr requires it.
- Your age and status. You must be 18 or over. Students may apply, though some projects ask for a degree. If you hold a visa, it must allow contract work; Alignerr doesn’t sponsor visas.
- A Google account, your current CV, your LinkedIn profile and your phone number.
- A laptop or desktop with a working webcam and microphone, and Google Chrome, for the interview. Phones and tablets aren’t supported for it.
- A government ID for the Persona check, and to take a live selfie. See the note on accepted IDs under Matching and onboarding.

Creating your account
- Sign in with your Google account, on a computer or phone. Chrome is recommended.
- Upload your CV. The platform fills in your profile in about 30 seconds, and you can delete the file afterwards.
- Check the details it filled in and correct anything wrong, especially your location.
- Choose your skill and domain preferences: the type of work you want. These decide which jobs you are matched to.
- Opt in or out of Alignerr Connect, which offers extra work directly with AI labs.
- Verify your phone number by text message. Only US and Canadian numbers are asked for this; if yours isn’t, you won’t be prompted, which is expected.
The terms ask for accurate, complete details, and forbid pretending to be someone else or sharing your account or password. In Settings, your email address and home address can’t be changed.

Your CV and profile
The CV file
Keep it to text, without emojis or pictures. If the upload keeps failing, use a PDF. A damaged CV file is the usual cause of the “Error loading interview” message when you start a Zara interview.
What Alignerr looks for
- Skills for the tasks you apply for: knowledge of a field, coding, or analytical thinking. Many members hold degrees, but Alignerr also welcomes generalists.
- Complete and accurate profile details, which Alignerr says improve your chance of a match.
- Projects are assigned on your skills, assessment results, availability and past work. Alignerr says doing well in more assessments speeds up matching; since assessments now come only with jobs, this means applying to the jobs that fit you.
You edit your skills and profile on the Resume tab, and your personal details in Settings.
Alignerr Connect
If you opt in, the AI labs that hire through Alignerr Connect see your rating, location, languages, specialisations, work history and education. They see your AI interview video and transcript only if you agree. They can filter people by rating, completed tasks, labelling experience and language assessment.

Applying to jobs
Browse the jobs in the app. Each listing shows its requirements and pay. Some jobs need extra steps, such as a Zara interview or a skills assessment, and you are told if so; some specialisations need no interview.
- Finish every step. If a job needs an assessment, a Continue button starts it. Some roles ask you to upload a voice sample.
- Read the status. “Applied” can mean steps are still waiting for you: open the application to see what is left. “Completed” means nothing more is needed from you.
- No extra tests on request. The Assessments tab has been removed. Interviews and assessments are assigned automatically from the jobs you apply to, and support can’t add them.
One Chemist (PhD) listing, as an example, asks for a Zara screening interview in English about your background, then a Zara interview on chemistry, and one or more assessments in the field.

The Zara AI interview
The interview is a video-recorded conversation with Zara, Alignerr’s AI assistant. Each candidate gets different questions, based on their profile, experience and answers, so there is no list of questions to study. Coding interviews can include live coding; language interviews are mostly live conversation. Alignerr uses the interview as a first check of your background, to place you on suitable projects. It doesn’t publish the interview’s length or how it is scored.
What you need
- A laptop or desktop with a working webcam. A phone or tablet can lead to a “Failed” result, and so does turning the camera off.
- Google Chrome, in an incognito window, with all other tabs closed. Test your camera and microphone first.
- A quiet room with a tidy or neutral background, and soft, even light on your face, without a bright light behind you.
- Headphones or a noise-cancelling microphone if you have them. Background noise may be taken as part of your answer and can trigger the system’s flags.
If “There’s been a glitch” appears, turn on graphics acceleration in Chrome and update your video drivers.
During the interview
- Stay in full-screen mode throughout. Leaving it can mark the interview “Failed”.
- Look at the camera. Looking away or using hand signals could flag the system.
- Speak at a steady pace with short pauses, and don’t talk over Zara: it causes pauses that can affect your score.
- If a question would break an NDA or is too personal, you can ask Zara to skip it and ask another.
नतीजे और दोबारा टेस्ट
Alignerr gives no individual results or feedback. If you pass, you move on to onboarding automatically.
Alignerr’s help articles disagree on retakes. One says the interview can be reset only after technical difficulties, by contacting support with the details; another says retakes are not currently allowed. Treat it as one attempt, and contact support at once if a technical problem stops it.
The interview is unpaid. By taking it you give Alignerr a permanent, worldwide licence to the recording and your likeness, including to train AI, and Alignerr has no obligation to accept you.

Human interviews and assessments
Human interviews
Some applicants are invited to an interview with a person, to check their native-language level and other skills. Who is invited depends on the experience given when you registered. To change the time, use the link at the bottom of the calendar invitation.
Assessments and voice samples
Some roles ask for an assessment in their field instead of, or as well as, the Zara interview. Voice roles ask you to upload a voice sample with your application. Alignerr doesn’t publish the format, length or pass mark of its assessments.

Calibration on each project
Every project starts with a calibration phase in which your sample work is reviewed. Labelbox scores your quality and speed into one score and tracks how much of your work needs redoing. Higher scores help you be chosen for later projects.
- Check the rate first. Some evaluation phases are unpaid, and for some projects the pay rate is shown only after you are selected. Alignerr’s advice is not to start until you are sure of the rate.
- What reviewers look for: accuracy, consistency across similar items, attention to detail, and asking when you are unsure. Some work is reviewed by other contributors or a lead.
- Alignerr Connect projects: read the instructions, then choose Start evaluation and do the sample tasks. If you pass, you get sign-in details for the client’s platform.
Alignerr’s community rules say that consistently poor work can lead to a ban.

AI tools and conduct
In interviews, AI tools, outside resources and help from anyone else are strictly forbidden. Alignerr gives examples: pasting questions into a chatbot, a second monitor with notes, and someone helping off camera.
Alignerr’s community rules also forbid gaming assessments, calibration projects or the timer, and creating more than one account. Alignerr says it keeps logs of screen activity and bans people at once for cheating or for having several accounts. Its help pages give no separate rule on AI tools during paid work.
Other reasons for removal
- discussing project details on social media or forums, which means immediate removal and possibly legal action;
- breaking Alignerr’s policies, low-quality work or long inactivity;
- failing account checks: Persona ID checks and ongoing monitoring;
- scraping, bots, automatic replies or sharing your account.
If your account is closed, accepted work is paid, but fraudulent or unfinished work may not be. If Trust & Safety closes it and your appeal fails, you lose pay for work you have already done. You can appeal only with the Submit Appeal button on your dashboard; if there is no button, the decision is final.

Matching and onboarding
After you pass, Alignerr starts matching you as soon as a suitable project exists. Projects follow client demand, not a schedule, and you may sit on a general waiting list. Alignerr says the time to a first project varies and gives no figure.
Project offers come by email and on Discord, with the project details and pay. You accept them from your dashboard, under Go to Projects. Check your email and Discord regularly.
- ID check through Persona: a valid ID and a live selfie. A photo of a photo is refused. If you submit the wrong ID, support can reset the check.
- Contract: the Alignerr Consulting Agreement, accepted in the app, from the onboarding checklist or Settings, Documents. The Accept button stays grey until you scroll both scroll bars to the bottom.
- Payment set-up, with Stripe or PayPal, whichever your Home page shows.
- Discord, which is required: Settings, Discord, Link Discord account, using the same email as for Alignerr. The phone number on your Discord account can’t already be on another Discord account.
- Hubstaff, from the email “Action Required: Join the Alignerr Hubstaff organization”, or Settings, Hubstaff, Send Hubstaff Invite.
Alignerr’s pages disagree on two points. The FAQ puts the Persona check before you browse jobs; the help centre says it comes only once you are matched to a project or accepted for a job. The FAQ also says only US documents are accepted (driving licence, state ID, work permit or permanent-residence card), while the Persona help article lists those types without saying US, mentions passports, and answers what to do if your country is not on the list. Be ready for the check at either point, with a government ID that Persona accepts for your country.
Alignerr may also run background and reference checks where the law allows and you agree to them.
Your first project
- Work happens in Labelbox, at app.labelbox.com, under Annotate. Labelbox may ask for a second sign-in step (MFA).
- Project coordinators answer questions in the project’s Discord channels, which you reach from the project’s page in Labelbox.
- Labelbox keeps three items reserved for you at a time. A reservation ends after 24 hours without activity, and unsubmitted work on it is lost.
- After a labelling project, a review phase before any feedback is normal.

Pay, tax and hours
- When: weekly. Work from Monday to Sunday is paid by the following Friday. The Earnings tab updates only once a payment is released. Stripe holds your first payment for seven days, and support can’t speed this up.
- How: Stripe or PayPal, whichever your Home page shows. There is one provider for each country, set by the country of your ID check, and you can only change it by redoing the Persona check with documents from the new country. If you were hired through Upwork, you are paid through Upwork, always by the hour. Alignerr allows payment into another person’s bank account, at your own risk.
- Pay models: by the hour; by task (paid when the task reaches DONE); by accepted task (only tasks marked Accepted); by task per turn; or by media hour. Reviewers are paid by the hour. A task is paid at the rate in force when you submitted it.
- Rates vary by project. Alignerr’s jobs page advertises up to $150 an hour.
- Tax: you are an independent contractor, and Alignerr gives no tax advice. US contractors paid through Deel get a 1099-NEC, and PayPal may issue a 1099-K; for non-US contractors, the Deel answer Alignerr quotes mentions a W-8BEN. (This tax article refers to payment through Deel, though Alignerr’s payment pages name only Stripe, PayPal and Upwork.)
- Time tracking: Hubstaff, which is free, takes screenshots from time to time and records the websites and apps you use. In the Labelbox editor you can’t submit until the Hubstaff timer is running, and pay follows the Labelbox timer, which pauses after five minutes without activity and when the editor is open in more than one tab. For Alignerr Connect projects, time is logged with the Alignerr Connect Chrome extension.
- Hours: the FAQ says there is no minimum and that many contributors work 20 to 25 hours a week. Listings can set their own: one asks for at least 15 hours a week, another for 10 to 40.
If a payment is missing, open a Billing ticket with the project, the dates and the problem.

Why applications stall
Alignerr says projects follow client demand, so time to a first project varies. The reasons its own pages give for applications going nowhere:
- an interview marked “Failed” because the camera was off, a phone or tablet was used, or full screen was left;
- a damaged or picture-heavy CV, which causes “Error loading interview”;
- a job still showing “Applied” because steps are waiting for you;
- no project yet that fits your profile;
- a missing Hubstaff invitation (check spam, send it again from Settings, or ask the project coordinator if it expired).
What Alignerr says helps: keep your profile complete, and watch your email and Discord.
What applicants report
Alignerr has a high rating on Trustpilot. Most of the newest reviews are five-star notes written straight after the Zara interview, and say nothing about getting work. Two reviewers say they were asked for five-star reviews, one before doing any work. Among one-star reviews from 2026, the most common complaint is pay: payment by accepted task leaving much less than expected, hours only partly paid, and work unpaid after an account was closed. A few reviewers describe accounts closed without a clear reason, or no work after onboarding. Three reviews from Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria describe the service as unavailable to them. These are a handful of reports, not a measure of how often it happens.
